Advance Directives - Living Wills

Many of us will spend time in hospital and lots of us have spent time with loved ones during end of life care. 

An advance directive records your wishes and indicates your refusal of some forms of medical treatment in particular circumstances. Clinical decisions remain with the medical profession but there are many issues you on which you can provide guidance. It is only used if you are no longer capable of expressing yourself.

You should also consider registering a Lasting Power of Attorney. This authorises people you trust to make decisions regarding your care needs and medical treatment.
